Books New to My TBR

My Apologies

After the migration to a new computer, I now find myself unable to reply to comments on my own blog. This pertains to all posts over the last couple of weeks.

Please know that I do appreciate your comments and read every one of them. I won’t be able to start trying to track down how to fix this problem until the week after Thanksgiving here in the U.S. (about December 1st), so please bear with me. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

Nonfiction November

Week 5 (11/25-11/29) New To My TBR:  It’s been a month full of amazing nonfiction books! Which ones have made it onto your TBR? Be sure to link back to the original blogger who posted about that book!

This week’s topic is hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

My TBR list has definitely grown throughout this month, and I look forward to checking out some of the new (to me) books that you’ve all recommended.

But first, with one week left in November, I still haven’t read these two books related to Life Stories in Literature:

Stranger Than Fiction: Lives of the Twentieth-Century Novel by Edwin Frank

This book of literary criticism and history was just published on November 19, 2024.

Stories Are Weapons: Psychological Warfare and the American Mind by Annalee Newitz

This timely book was published earlier this year (2024).

And here are the books I’ve added to my TBR list during Nonfiction November. Thanks to all of you for sharing your wide-ranging reading.

Making It So by Patrick Stewart

Mentioned by Joy Weese Moll

Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come by Jessica Pan

Mentioned by Angela, a Literary Wanderer

All You Need Is Love: The End of the Beatles by Peter Brown & Steven Gaines

Mentioned by AnnaBookBel

Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent by Judi Dench

Mentioned by JaneGS

Eighteen: A History of Britain in 18 Young Lives by Alice Loxton

A fascinating look at eighteen historical figures, with a focus on how their first eighteen years shaped the rest of their lives.

Mentioned by Helen

Et Cetera: An Illustrated Guide to Latin Phrases by Maia Lee-Chin and Marta Bertello

Mentioned by Literary Potpourri

Inventing Reality: The Politics of the Mass Media by Michael Parenti

Mentioned by Rebekah at She Seeks Nonfiction

The Life List: Master Every Moment and Live an Audacious Life by Kate Christie

Mentioned by Bibliographic Manifestations

Write a Must-Read by A.J. Harper

Mentioned by Lisa

Finally, thank you to everyone who has participated in Nonfiction November 2024. This was my first year. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but I’ve been rewarded by discovering both new book bloggers and new books. Although I read way more fiction than nonfiction throughout the other 11 months, I look forward to returning for Nonfiction November 2025.

  1. Ugh with the blog problems. I just dealt with something that went wonky on my blog, and I was happy that it got resolved quicker than expected — I hope that ends up true for you, too.

I hope you enjoy Patrick Stewart! I added Judi Dench to my TBR, too.

I'd love to hear from you!
