Today is Hiroshima Day, in memory of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945.
The photo above, taken at Hiroshima Memorial Park, depicts a concrete, saddle-shaped monument that covers a cenotaph holding the names of all the people killed by the bomb. The arch shape represents a shelter for the souls of the victims.

I saw an immersive Hiroshima exhibit at a museum several years ago. The mural consisted of a floor-to-ceiling panoramic photograph of the devastation on all four walls of the room. Needless to say, it was a sobering experience.
We didn’t go into the museum in Hiroshima, but we walked all around the outdoor memorial park. Yes, it was a sobering experience. The museum exhibit you describe sounds particularly so. Thanks for commenting.
You’re welcome, Mary.
