Inklings Bookshop in Yakima, WA
Today is Independent Bookstore Day!
To celebrate, I’m featuring a delightful store we visited last summer (July 2022) on our first road trip emerging from COVID-19 lockdown. Because it had been so long since we could travel anyplace to visit a bookstore, we made it a priority to look for some on this trip.
And I was so excited to find this one:

When we walked through the door, we were greeted by so much bookish good stuff, like the month’s featured display of Where’s Waldo?

I especially liked the way the store presents the origin of its name.

I also enjoyed seeing the shelf quotations throughout the store.

I haven’t gotten into Book Tok, but Inklings has.

And of course every reader knows that a good mug of coffee or tea necessarily accompanies any good book. You’d be hard pressed NOT to find one you like here.

There’s so much to love in this store, and I got a good start on my winter holiday shopping. If you’re ever in Yakima, Washington, be sure to stop by.
